Connecticut Connections の Theater は、劇場を名作のタイトルだけでなく、文化の動きとして読む section です。 nineteenth-century play は page から stage に移り、stage から poster に移り、poster から town の壁へ、さらに parlor や schoolroom へまで広がっていきました。 ここでは『カミーユ』や『Our American Cousin』のような個別作品の feature と、playbill、gaslight、traveling company といった “劇場を取り巻く世界” の feature を並べて読み進められます。 大きな舞台だけではなく、その周辺に残る小さな痕跡まで美しく見たい人のための入口です。
